The District Chief Executive for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Felicia Aba Hagan hinted that the assembly decided to prosecute assembly members managing district assembly’s toilet but failed to pay franchise to the assembly. According to DCE, all effort to get them pays the franchise failed so they decided to prosecute them only for the Presiding Member to intervene with plea not to prosecute them. Felicia Aba Hagan has told those assembly members involved should note that the assembly will deduct the amount owe them from their ex-gratia.
The Presiding Member for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, Albert Jojo Bondze has pleaded with the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District Chief Executive not to prosecute defaulted assembly members who failed to pay franchise to the assembly after operating their toilet. The Presiding Member has assured the assembly that he will make sure those defaulted assembly members pay the money by the end of next week. He made the plea at their last sessional address to dissolve the assembly.
The Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency Elvis Morris Donkoh expressed shock that assembly members who enact bye-laws and know better has failed to pay franchise to the assembly after managing assembly facilities. According to the MP, the painful aspect of this is that those assembly members do come back to the assembly of the MP for funds to repair the facilities when it developed fault. He is in support of the assembly to retrieve the money from those assembly members.
