Ekumfi Obidan youth have expressed their disappointment in successive government for lack of development of their community. According to them, successive government has neglected them whiles they lack good road network, market, potable water, toilet and other social amenities. The youth got angry against the Ekumfi District Chief Executive Bernard Grants and described his donation of Four Hundred Cedis (GHC 400) to the community as an insult to the people of Ekumfi Obidan. The DCE pledged hundred bags of cement to complete their community self initiated four bedroom teachers quarters which has stalled for several years due to lack of fund before donating the Four Hundred Cedis.
The District Chief Executive for Ekumfi District, Bernard Grants praised the chief and the people of Ekumfi Obidan for initiating a project to construct four bedroom teachers’ quarters to house teachers to promote teaching and learning in the community. He pledged to support the project with hundred bags of cement to complete the project.
The chief of Ekumfi Obidan, Nana Akweesi II touched on education as his main goal since education is key to development. Nana Akweesi II said, teachers are not staying in the community and poor road network makes it difficult for teachers to come to school on time. He expressed their gratitude to the District Chief Executive for pledging hundred bags of cement and donation. He also pleaded on behalf of the youth for rude behaviour towards the DCE’s donation.
